CORD CUTTINGS
Now is always a good time to cultivate patterns and relationships that are nourishing and generative. In order to do so, it’s helpful to also examine and repair the areas in which we are not in healthy relationship with ourselves and others.
Consider:
Where have you been extending yourself without creating healthy limits and boundaries?
How can you be more focused in your life work without allowing external elements to distract you?
What people, places, or situations do you feel challenged in releasing or letting go?
Are there any relationships where you wish to experience a clearer sense of differentiation?
What Are Energetic Cords?
When we enter into relationship with others, an energetic connection is created. Often those connections are healthy and life affirming. Creativity, collaboration, trust, and a clear sense of self and other is present. Sometimes though, as a result of unhealed wounds, the cords that form may result in one or both people feeling drained, confused, fixated, stuck, or unable to “let go”.
Who do we form cords with?
Parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and other family members (both living and deceased)
Lovers, spouses, sexual partners and exes
Friends and acquaintances
Bosses, colleagues, clients and employees
Religious organizations, social groups
Places we’ve worked, visited, or lived
